Thanks Adrian. My brother and I are just stringing up. I agree with you on the the fact that "good vintage" trumps "modern good". I also think that this Dingley would balance one of James' rods better too. Should I be concerned that the reel is not stamped with a "D" or a Dingley name plate? Thanks again for the info. Sorry that we didn't connect on the Deschutes; next time. Oh yeah, wanted to tell you that I plan on only using a Greaseliner for the next 5 days-crazy I know

    Adrian,

Real quick. I am currently getting packed to leave for the Deschutes tomorrow and will be out east on that gem of a river for 5 days. I saw these two reels posted today/tonight on the Spey Pages Misc. classified section:

    http://www.speypages.com/speyclave/9...14-farlex.html

    http://www.speypages.com/speyclave/9...ine-guard.html

I am first in line on the Farlex 3 3/4 reel. I spoke with Tim today via email. He recommended one of his 4 Inch Raised Pillar S-Handle reels for balancing my future Reid bamboo winter 7/8 spey rod. But this Farlex reel is very handsome. The Dingley just posted tonight and it looks amazing, but in your opinion is it too good to be true that both of these would post in the same day. Having a hard time deciding which one to pull the trigger on. Any thoughts or advice that you could offer would be greatly appreciated right now brother. Thanks again.

Sounds good Adrian. Quick question. I have a ton of fly tying materials (seal dubbing, teal, bronze mallard, vintage metal tinsel and Lagartun, peacock primaries, etc.). However, I was wondering if you could maybe list what you would consider the top 12 or 15 materials that provide the widest coverage for Atlantic full dress style flees like you tie in hand. I have some limited funds and might place an order with Aaron at AO feathers again, but I want to purchase materials that provide the biggest bang for their buck by being interchangeable across multiple patterns. Thanks for any information. See you next Friday.

    Cheers,
    Jeremiah

    Adrian,

I am available to meet up next Friday for sure. Can't wait. What time works best for you to meet at the Highland Stillhouse? I am off that day so really any time works for me. Should I bring some of my own materials and tools and we can just chat, have a pint, and maybe tie some flees up?

    My cell number is 971-563-3658
I will be wearing some type of Patagonia brand hat, and I wear glasses and have a big beard. See you next Friday.

    Cheers,
    Jeremiah

    Good evening Adrian,

Not sure if my previous message went out or not. Are you still available to meet next Friday, July 10 for a tying session in hand and a pint or two?
