So nice! Could you share your favorite way to mount?
On little flies, I've found using either 5 minute epoxy or some UV activated Knot Sense works well -- but yours look so nice with the full dress fly suspended over the matt.
That's a great way to mount flies mainly because it is REVERSIBLE, i.e., you haven't destroyed the fly by gluing it to a post. In the museum business, I've seen all manner of fly mountings...prior to this thread, the best I'd seen was wire used as both the post and a wrap around the fly to hold it in place. William Cushner was an amazing fly framer; he was connected to all the right fly tyers and artists and would combine art (flat or 3 dimensional) and flies in beautiful ways. BUT he glued his flies to plastic posts. I was privileged to oversee more than two hundred of his framings. Just awesome. Max_RUS is doing a beautiful job, too!

Interesting that you should mention William Cushner... I grew up on the Oregon Coast and my mom actually took meet up to meet Mr. Cushner at his museum when I was a boy. I have two English wet flies that he gave me and signed one of his cards. Very cherished possession of mine. Sorry about the hijack.... that is a very ingenious mounting technique, thanks for sharing.

(Ways of mounting flies, that is) But I haven't. This is the best way of mounting flies I have seen. With excellent how-to photos. Congratulations on one of the most useful threads I've seen on a forum in awhile - and very generous of you to share.

Hey Max
That is one of the coolest fly frame jobs I've seen.
Just beautiful.
There is a spot in my house where it would fit perfectly. :hihi:
Thanks again for sharing.
Michael.
