As the title says I am wanting to learn a little more about fly selection for spring fish here in Michigan. I've swung almost exclusively in the fall/winter the past two years, mostly fishing Feenstra style leeches and sculpins plus some intruders and bunny leeches.

Can anyone offer some insight for fly selection this time of year and even into late march/early april? Should I be throwing the same stuff, smaller versions of those flies, or something else entirely? Any advice on sizes and colors would be most helpful.

Thanks
Rich

intruders mainly all i fish, few leeches- big and black, especially in dirty water

olive in clearer water, never forget about the whites, pink is always an option

I fish in new york but..... same thing. I target the fast water, choppy runs, moving fresh fish like the faster water and avoid the bubba's(noodlers and bait guys).

Watch out for the redds, spawning fish need privacy. Even in the great lakes tribs.
