Something Blue

I thought I'd post something blue that I created yesterday as I dreamt of breaking out my spey rod and heading down to the river; oh wait it's closed.

Anyway, I always appreciate reading people's positive responses here. As a result, a backyard fly-tyer like myself feels comfortable posting something.

I am very purposeful about what I create, which means that I think about the exact runs, buckets and even scattered rocks through which I will be swinging my fly; then I consider air and water temperature and time of day. Lastly, I consider what everyone else might be throwing through the same water, gaze at all my various tying stuff and start going for something new. I've had great success with this method.

I haven't checked this section for a bit and didn't expect to see one of my flies being discussed. Very cool. The blue wing is spey hackle turned up, and I do also fish the Klick regularly and have tons of great memories there. It's also the river I grew up on.

I now fish the Deschutes more regularly as I live in Redmond. Both rivers have something very unique to offer, for sure.
