Charles Henry Raymond passed last month at 76. He owned a general store/flyshop in the Matapedia valley. He used to be a local guide and was well known by fishermen who frequented the area. He was also famed by his tying skills. He was the first to tie blue & shrimp color variations of the popular bombers which are now two of the most popular in the Gaspe area.
I met him once in his store about 7 years ago. A real gentleman. I wish I had bought a few more of his flies.
