Thats is a really great fancy wing, Mike, really great indeed!! :hihi:

The only thing I like to do different (andf that's maybe just a matter of taste) is the 1/3 - 2/3, meaning the rear body one third of the body lenght and the front body 2 thirds of it, i think/believe it makes a nicer wing clearance and gives the fly a slimprofile, i specially like this on akroyds (in fact on them i prefer almost 1/4-3/4), but again it is probably only a matter of taste and a suggestion.

Overall, nice looking, well-tied, and well composed. Excellent 2nd dee.

The eye is a little large. The easiest way to get it a good size is to wrap the eye material around a bodkin needle and make it the size of the bodkin needle.

The jungle cock tail veiling or coverings aren't placed equally on each side. The right side (near side) doesn't quite meet the far side in the middle of the tail topping. This is very evident from the top view.

I'd move the tip and tag back a little and have the tail mounted and body start exactly even with the hook point.

The jungle cock sides are the right length and if tied-in so that they form a straight line that goes from the front of the head of the fly to the hook point, it would make a huge difference in the look of the fly.

And like Rob, I'd make the body 40% rear, 60% front to compensate for the throat, wing, and sides partially covering the front segment.

Also, watch your wings so that neither one is a little lower at the tie-in that the other. Wings are the right width and length, so don't change those things.

This is absolutely lovely Mike. I think you did an excellent job adapting a Dee to this style hook. Your color selections and proportions work well together. As usual Russ offers spot on advice to take your tying to the next level and attain classic form (if that's your intent). Great tying !!!

I'm taking on board all the helpful comments ;) - many thanks to all

I've just taken delivery of some long shank blind eye HE2's - so I may be able to get future ties in better proportion.
