Mini ‘truder:
Using a 25mm length of the fine PVC ‘liner’ tube, a mini ‘truder is wrapped:
The tail is 2 wrapped orange-dyed GP flank feathers. The body is yellow angel hair, spun onto the thread as dubbing, then wrapped, secured with oval silver tinsel rib
A small bunch of chartreuse dyed marble fox is selected and splayed out into a dubbing loop
Then spun
Then wrapped as the wing
A small brush is used to brush out the fox into some semblance of order
Four natural grizzly saddle hackle tips are tied in around the tube
A purple dyed schlappen feather is then wrapped for 3 turns as the under collar
A natural gadwall feather is wrapped over the schlappen
The head is finished with Glo Brite #5 floss, then varnished
The overall size in the hand – 2.5” max length
The setup would be a loop in the leader with your preferred choice of stinger hook, having placed a small fluo red bead to prevent the loop knot from pulling into the rear of the PVC tube during the swing.
Just add some nice flows, & enjoy!
