Great Lakes & The Flash Fly.
So, maybe it's just quarantine, and maybe it's over-analyzing. Maybe I just want to have an excuse for retying all my boxes... I'm wondering what the consensus here is on the the Flash fly, and maybe more specifically those in Michigan, I'm wondering what your take on it is. I think if you look around the state even briefly, you'll find an array of patterns, based on the same egg-sucking leech appearance, but shrouded in enough flash to send signals to the moon.
Now, I'm not knocking this tactic, as it obviously works at times; but what conditions, rivers, and attitude do you find them fitting for you?
I know there are some west coast schools of thought that utilize flash more than others, but it's interesting to me that in the great lakes fishery, flash is considered a primary component, while generally, it's utilized as accent out west.
Looking forward to your thoughts,
