Dee

I decided on a Dee last night...I need to tie more of them.
Usually I fish a Balmoral, a Gardener, or a Murdoch Dunt, but this time I decided on something different.

I made a few changes, so this is a variant of a Murdoch Red Wing Heron. I changed the tail entirely, and used some Kori for the wing.

Thanks again for posting so many great flies everyone....

...and thanks flytie09 for posting some Dees to get me going!

Nice profile, great colors, very neat. I need to practice these wing sets.

Thanks for looking...

It's always fun to tie a Dee. I did this one on an AJ that I cut a bit shorter, maybe too short? I also think I needed to make the blue floss tag a little longer. Oh well the fish won't notice when it takes a swim.

Stay safe, stay distant everyone..

Don't sweat the small stuff Mike. I've trimmed a few hooks to get the proportions that suit MY eye and that is what should matter to you. That fly looks great. The blue floss tag a little longer? Maybe, but it sure looks good from here.
