AJ's break on me sometimes, right at the barb.... and I am sure I am not alone.
I found these flies in a box the other day. I really liked the purple and silver one, and I remember being a little upset on the river when I stared at the broken hook.
Anyway, I decided to replace it yesterday.... but this time on a #3 BH, a fly for fishing...
It's my first married wing in a while, and I am out of practice.
Too many turns of fine oval at the tip, so not enough tag, and a rough job lining up the fibre tips. I doubled up on the kingfisher on both the veiling and the cheeks, as I find they tend to be fragile and can fall off after some hard fishing. I also made a few slight changes to the wing. All in all it's nice to have one of these back in my box.
Thought I would share the result.
Hang in there everyone...
Stay safe.
