Thanks Mike! I think it’s Mikelli blue, that’s what I call it anyway!!

I’ve seen a lot of variations of this pattern (cascade style) but I’m particularly fond of the proportions that Mcphail and Foxall get.

That was key for me!

•Tail = 1.5-2 times hook length
•Hackle or underwing = just going in between your double hooks
•1st wing goes about 1/3rd into the tail
•last wing is shorter and sparse than first

I like the teardrop shape and sparseness you achieve. A lot of tyers try to do their wing like a temple dog on these, but I think you get a better profile when you reverse it like the proportions above. I save the temple dog style wings for temple dog style flies, and use this method for doubles.
