Feather wing experiment

Tried to tie up something natural-ish. Continuing to practice with feather wing sets... I know they're too long, but they actually stayed where I put them this time, so here it is.

Very nice wing set .... and that fly will hunt too !!
In my opinion, the wing is conducive to the pattern ... the fly has an appearance of being "river food" and the wing gives a little extra length to the overall profile to simulate a chub or dace. I like it as is

Mike

That’s a beauty! As mike said I don’t think the wing is to long. I can’t remember seeing it written in stone that a wing has to be a certain length. If a fish will try and eat a 6 inch pink rubber worm then why wouldn’t it try and eat a 4 inch pink feather wing wiggling away in the current? Wing size should be relative to the design of the fly.

I like that fly a lot!!! Well done

You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
