Natural feather wing

Saw a natural coloured fly in a video clip and liked the look of it, so decided to do a sort of freestyle fly, and added a black feather wing to it. Nickels’ recommendations for feather wings helped me out on this one!

Bright colors and flash work for those steelhead...but there is something that makes natural colors more beautiful...and I think the fish will agree. Especially when it is a fine looking well tied fly like this one!!

Beautifully understated pattern. And I would think any self respecting fish, after being assaulted by a gauntlet of Hoh Bos, Intruders, glo bug, pink rubber worms and little cleos would crush that.

And the wings - was that a post by Nickels? Even though Iíve read a few techniques, I still have a hard time gettin feather wings no to kick up at a 30 degree angle. Yours are perfect. nice work!
