2 more Herons

A Black Heron and a Brown Heron.

I finished these the other day and now only have 2 more to do to complete this Glasso project for my friend.

I doubled the bronze mallard on the Brown Heron (which may have made the head a touch big), and I used a smaller heron hackle as the hook is a slightly smaller Blue Heron #3. I set in the heron hackle a bit too far forward though, so you can see I had to stretch the first turn of tinsel in order to catch it. Overall I like the fly, considering BM continues to be a challenge for be.

The Black Heron is on a #2 Blue Heron hook, and I set the heron hackle in at the back of the tinsel on this one, to give the fly some wispy flow (and because it's easier ).

Have a great week everyone...

Mike

Great-looking flies. Both are epic examples. The background is not too shabby either.
