Sorry to disappoint you Ard, but that body isn't tapered. It's an accident of camera angle. There's two stray hackle fibers that give you the impression. I do want to try a tapered body now though, it does help the fly "flow". Hopefully I can tie a tapered body that is good enough to post here!
I think it does need a name if it doesn't already have one. There have been days that this is the only streamer the brownies would touch.
This is very similar to a Peter Ross.
Which is typically a Sea Trout fly, but has taken it's fair share of grilse.
