I tried tying my bomber variant in a purple/black theme and I think it has some potential. Click image for larger version

Very nice Todd! I dig that fly. Was that fish taken recently? My last dry fly steelhead was in early November. It seems the water cooled earlier this year in my neck of the woods. Still hoping for more action on top!

Nate

Bring the swing.

Thanks Nate. That steelhead was taken yesterday, black Friday. I believe it was another steelhead that came up for the fly a couple times and missed a few minutes before. Water temp was 46.8*, air was 34*. Yes it has been cooler, sooner around here too. The last one I got prior to this one was mid Nov. I have still raised steelhead on November mornings with ice in my guides. Skating dries in November is hopeless, that's probably why I like it!

Thanks Mike. It's been fun experimenting with all natural materials this fall. I've been in recovery from foam addiction thanks to discovering that this bomber variant stays up well and is highly visible as well.

We're planning an earlier trip so floating lines, bombers, wakers and skaters will be high up on the offering list !!
