Skunky Dee

Hello friends
I started a tying campaign today, I need to fill a couple boxes of confidence flies for the fall salar hunt
Just over a month to go and the sleepless nights have already started

I pinched a #2 McNeese for the platform of this Skunky Dee

A variation of a confidence pattern done with a twist.
Hope it finds a player.

Mike

Hey thanks gents
I'm hoping you guys are right and it calls out to a player on the far bank
I just finished a hot pink butt variation as well, the second coat is drying as I type.
Got to love the Skunk

I agree with Loren. I don't think it'll work. You need proof of concept. I will take all of them and test them for you if you like....

Beautiful fly!

Keep 'em wet

Dan, your comment is kind, however it has triggered my OCD
In days past, I would have tied at least 4 of them and placed three in my box and 1 in a "special reserve" tub back at camp.
I bring my tying stuff to salar camp, you never know what can be produced after a day of salar hunting sitting around the tying bench with a group of glorious salmon dawgs sipping single malt whiskey

Gents, thank you for your votes of confidence, means more than you know

Mike I really really like this one. I know very little of classic flies, only that some are really beautiful and they work. This one here is killer! I’m not familiar enough to know the nomenclatures of why I like it, but the just the overall shape and body and the front are really attractive.

Nice man......if I I could tie those if probably OCD on having a lot of that one for sure

Thanks again gentlemen

Yeah Keith, I'm hoping for a BOOM and feel the weight and headshakes ... I can actually feel it as I type !!
I think they call it obsessed

John you are very kind with your comments my friend
Hope you are well.
Sleepless nights have already started !! I can smell the hemlock and cedars and feel the cool morning mist already. A hot cup of coffee bank side as the morning offering gets selected and tied on ... oh baby it can't come soon enough !!

Yooper, you are kind and I appreciate your comments ... even though you tie and fish straws
