A few for BC

Building a new box for BC. One week to go and only 7 spots to fill. Added a little plastic this years, trying to think outside the box.

These are awesome...inspiring work!

Just curious what do you mean by "added a little plastic this year"? Tied a few tubes? Maybe I'm missing something about the flies you posted...

Cheers,
Serge

Second fly, blue ice dub. "Plastic" is my snobbish play on the use of synthetic materials. I do however take a few tied on tubes. I use copper with a liner. I break out the tube when water conditions are failing. We could talk for days on the pros and cons of adding synthetics to a fly. I am not 100% sold on the UV thing but do find some UV dyed materials have merit. You would laugh at my selection of synthetic material, $1000s invested. For trout and warm water I will not hesitate adding plastic, for my steelhead flies its another story. Not a hangup, just the way I do it.

Looks good Marty! You would laugh at me!! I’ve scouted some of your fly tying step-by-steps and added some UV stuff!!

Does it work better?? I’m not sure, last time I interviewed a fish he was tight lipped!! But, it makes me feel better.....maybe that makes it ‘better’ for poor schmucks like me.

Nice flies man, good luck in BC.....happens to be my favorite place to fish on planet earth

You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Good Luck,

Upper Skeena/ Northern BC are about to get hit with with 3rd storm in 8 days. Water discharge/level is closer to later stage of Spring run-offs then summer conditions........
Current Jet-stream position, which carries low pressure systems, is more typical for late fall pattern than summer.
