Thanks Mike! I plan on using these during the "early" part of the steelhead season on the Salmon River from mid-September through late October. During this time period the river is usually running at the base fall flow release of 350cfs unless we get a lot of rain. The water temps. are relatively warm so the steelhead like to hold in the fast pocket water and riffles to get oxygen. I'll be using a 3 foot tip of T-11 to fish these muddlers in this type of water.
Hello.. And DANG!! Purple Muddlers!! Didn´t think of that.. Sitting and dressing up some original Muddlers and green/brown ones for waking/riffling searun browns, and purple turn up! Quick check. Purple shadow fox, purple bucktail and a spool of purple lazer-mylar tinsel. Black deer hair, a bit short but will possibly cover a Wilson size 4.. will have to do... in the dark.. Muahahaha.. Yours borano20
On my river I usually use an Intermediate polyleader and swim them in the surface film.
