Very shrimpy-sexy

I like the dark green wing ... not the usual shade that most tiers reach for, brilliant !!
May I suggest to shorten that wing a tad ... ??

Great fly. Agree with Mike on a slightly shorter wing.
Bob Ververka's green heron is a great pattern to swing also.
Green flies in various shades are good change-up in the fall after the fish have seen endless variations on orange or orange and black... try it with a long BEP hackle and merganser collar over shades of olive to highlander green floss bodies.

Enjoy,
Tom

Mike, I know you have mentioned the wing length advice being shorter, much appreciated, but sometimes I feel lucky to simply get the wings positioned inline and as low as possible and shorter than those on this fly. And then I tie the feathers off and somehow they are long again! Practice, practice, practice. Tied another similar one today and eventually realized I had 10 thumbs!

Tom, interesting advice on trying green for fall steelies. I will definitely look into what you suggested and give it a go.

Thanks to both of you!!
