Today's efforts

Here are 2 I tied today. It was raining all day so I was "forced" to spend so quality time at the vice. Hey, it's cheaper than going to a bar! Thanks for looking

I'm really liking the silhouette on these and I think they will swim great. Nice work!

the look is great; esp for sloweer flows. I'd be making a bunch out of concerns of durability. Marabou? Super fishy!

What I lack in skill --- I make up for with enthusiasm.

marabou durability

Durability is definitely a concern with marabou feathers. And, yes, I tie 2 or 3 every day to try to have a bunch to "sacrifice". That being said, I do lay in a bead of super glue before wrapping both the ice tub body and each marabou feather. I am sure the flies will still get shredded, but hopefully any one of the flies will produce a hit and that's usually satisfying enough for me.

I've found that palmered marabou will last longer if schlappen is palmered in front of it. Cool flies, fishy stuff.
