Kings Candy improved

By improved I mean Ive made it lighter and sparser. Gives it more action and gives it much more castability than my previous attempts! Fly is 6 from nose to end of flash tail

Thanks for looking

Alex, Honyuk has asked me to ask you to pass these flies on to me and then I will send them to him (!) Love the blending of colors, very balanced. Where and for what fish do you plan on using them? I would think stripe bass would be all over those. Very nice work.

Haha, thanks for the kind words! I like these for fresh Chinook.....they feed almost 100% on baitfish their entire life in the ocean, and some of the pacific herring they eat can be 12-15. This pattern is 6 long, but I find in mos of the Great Lakes you can go smaller. I also tie a 4 version that blends Marble fox with Snowrunner vs 100% Snowrunner.

I could see these working in most scenarios where you have predatory fish feeding on other fish. The action is truly breathtaking on these. Jaap Kalkman from Skeena River Fly Supply and Tomasz Bogdanowicz from Pike Terror Flies really came up with this style of fly with those particular materials..........Im just a copy cat so I cant reaaly take any credit!

Take a lot of credit, you have the skills and it's very obvious a creative eye. I can imagine double stripping those in saltwater for kings! Keep going! Thanks for posting.

Great job on that tie Alex! I think an Atlantic would have to take a long hard look at that tube swimming by.

I tie one about 4 in white/black or white/olive for that very purpose! Its a marble fox to Snowrunner to keep length down but still get a nice taper. Got my first steelhead this year up there on that pattern!
