Hey Forbes, those are awesome offerings !!
Never tried a Green Widow, but seen a few from Malloy.
I like that one with a bit of blue up front
Of course the Coseboom is a producer ... I'll be tying a few of those up soon
Thanks for posting brother !!

I have heard people say that "any color will work as long as its green".

Don is correct. Remember the LaVerte, a very successful fly on the Gaspé?

Doug

That was not a bad cast. I was just casting to the nearby fish.

My friend "Smolt" has a great story about the (Miramichi) season nothing was taking any fly.. until he tied on a Green Widow

Very NICE ties Draggerman! ..thanks for the peek.

In your experience Forbes, what colours are for stale fish ??
My experience has been stale fish with a bump in water to get them triggered for the most part.
I've only had the privilege two separate seasons to encounter fresh runs ... and at least a few fish came to a Green Highlander and at least one on a Slime

Thanks for the response Forbes and for reminding me
Right after I read your response it was like a switch went off in my head ... "I know that".

Hopefully the water stays and so do the fish for you gents out there.
I'll see you in October and we can figure out the stale fish together

I have the most confidence in chartruese/silver doctor blue for fresh fish. Not that I’ve caught a lot of fish, but my friends who I fish with now know that when I send them a pic of a fresh fish they always respond “chartruese/blue?”
