I just used a "Indian neck cape" also called a "Salmon Fly Cape" available at my local fly shop in Altmar, N.Y. Selected 2 feathers from the left side of the cape and 2 feathers from the right side. The blue cape I have is especially nice. I tried to mount the wings low on the "shoulders" of the hook shank following the instructions in Bob Veverka's book Spey Flies and How to Tie Them.
