I'm liking that! That wing is lying perfectly.

Agree 100% !!
That is stellar Paul, very fishy-sexy
I like the light blue, almost florescent wing ... I think I have some saddles very similar that I picked up from Poppy a few years ago.

Great colors and tie! Black and blue combinations were hot flies for early Puget Sound summer-run steelhead, but there aren't many of them left.

Nice work Tech! This is a sweet one. Well done. Can you suggest a good source for the wing feathers? I was looking at the Wapsi streamer capes. Opionions on those? Thanks.

I just used a "Indian neck cape" also called a "Salmon Fly Cape" available at my local fly shop in Altmar, N.Y. Selected 2 feathers from the left side of the cape and 2 feathers from the right side. The blue cape I have is especially nice. I tried to mount the wings low on the "shoulders" of the hook shank following the instructions in Bob Veverka's book Spey Flies and How to Tie Them.
