Fresh fish

I like this color combo for just about any fresh steelhead or salmon. It’s close to the little Cleo (Blue/silver) which is a Great Lakes success story for sure!

Ah, the famous Little Cleo ... many steelhead and lake trout fell for that lure off the pier in my earlier days
Nice rendition !!

Nice tie, Yooper-Fly!
Yep, the 2/5 ounce blue and chrome Little Cleo was a big hit here on the Puget Sound rivers for steelhead, too, when we had some steelhead to catch.

Nice job of tying, Yooper. Your fly would be a killer striped bass fly on Cape Cod!

Doug

That was not a bad cast. I was just casting to the nearby fish.

Thanks for all the kind words! My first hairwing Patterns I started learning to tie were Jaap Kalkmans ‘King’s Candy’. They are not tied in a traditional Scandi hairwing fashion. So now, all my attempts at Scandi hairwings seem to turn out more resembling the baitfish profile of Jaap’s Kings Candy! Not sure how to change that!!
