I got excited when I saw the title thinking someone had resurrected one of Steve Wrye’s (past member OC) patterns from the mid 90’s. This was a pattern that accounted for a large number of Sauk and Skagit fish to hand. It was a staple in my box for a few years but for some reason, I stopped carrying it.
Alas, this is not it. Nice looking fly though.
From memory the original SCM was a marabou hackled Spey that had a red floss butt, black dubbed body with large oval silver ribbing, palmered marabou of royal blue with a shorter white marabou collar and a bunched wing of long black marabou over a few strands of blue flashabou. Jungle cock eyes were optional.
