with no love, but fun none the less. Pictured with my beautiful Meiser winter stick.

I hardly tied at all last year, and it's been fun to get back at it over the winter, if only a bit.

Bumping the request for more photos of that Meiser stick ...

So it looks like you modeled that "Black" fly after Dec's Coastal Orange ... well sort of, you know what I mean.
Curious to know if you tried this style with GP flank instead of saddles for the wing ?? The tented (a-la Glasso) wings with saddles still have good movement, however the the GP flank would offer a greater profile.
I suspect it would depend on what or how you achieve confidence in the waters that you swing. In cold water, profile is more important than movement in my thinking (but that is just me). Once waters start to warm, profile drops down the list (still somewhat important) and movement replaces it.

Here's my thoughts:

Cold water:

1. Profile
2. Color
3. Contrast (POP)
4. Movement

"Normal" water:

1. Movement
2. Contrast (POP)
3. Color
4. Profile

I labeled as "Normal" meaning optimal or preferred water temperatures.

Interesting to see your thoughts on this .... I know I'm over thinking things but what else can I do while I'm waiting to go fishing :hihi:
