Akroyd with cinnamon wing

Have not been too active on here lately as my local ditches have taken up most of my time and the vise has taken a back seat. As the season comes into its final stretch and most of my flies mangled, I tied up this akroyd. The orange/yellow combo seems to be getting it done this year. Thanks for looking,

Tim

Fantastic tying Tim !!
The Pryce-Tannatt version of the Akroyd is my favorite, along with cinnamon slips

Mike

Have you Swung a Spey Fly today ??

The cock pheasant escapes again!

Terrific tying, Tim. I am sure that one will be crunched.

That was not a bad cast. I was just casting to the nearby fish.

Thanks! The front half is coque tied in by the webby end and wrapped forward. Makes a great spey hackle and fishes better in my opinion

Yes. The cock pheasant has escaped once again. Haha. I have a mediocre phone camera and this background seems to be the only thing around that makes the camera pick up on colors/detail. I'd love to improve my photo skills someday....thanks

That's a beauty, Tim! I tied some Akroyds recently and took them for a swim on the Sandy River, OR, last week...some with the traditional yellow-orange rear halves, some with hot orange, some with blue, some with green. No love shown by the steelhead, but they looked great on the swing!
