Skykomish Dark

Hope you guys are not getting sick of my posting. Almost through all the basic patterns I will be taking with me this spring up to the skeena. I like this fly as the somber brother to the sol duc glasso fly.

A Steve Gobin fly and one of my favorite bronze mallard wing patterns.

Tag: silver tinsel
body: rear 1/4 hot orange silk (I think Steve uses more of a straight orange color), remainder red seal dubbing. Ribbed with flat silver tinsel followed by small oval tinsel.
hackle: yellow schlappen (started at second turn on this fly)
throat: black dyed pheasant rump
wing: bronze mallard
thread: red

The black PR throat knocks it out of the park.
