Second attempt at married wing

Hello spey heads. Been trying to step up my game at the vice. My first attempt at a married wing was canted upward a bit but didn't self-distruct as expected. Everyone saying lady amherst was a pain to work with only spurred my stubborn nature to try and conquer it. The head is bigger than I like, but I can work on that. On the next one I will do the ribbing a little differently. I guess I like my hackle long too. Hope I can get something decent for the fly fishing collaborative fund raiser. Happy tying, Nate

Wow to both the fly and your painting. Wanna make some dough for the FFC? Get 100 of those printed (art quality), sign and number, and let FFC sell them at the auction. You are a very good artist.

Thanks Matt. You are a talented tyer. I appreciate the help you have offered, and feathers. The watercolor was done in 2009. It was a really hot fish I hooked on the swing, about 30 inches long. On the first run, it tore off a bunch of line spanning the width of the river diagonally. It then went airborne into the willows, nearly getting tangled in the low hanging branches. It was one of those battles that gets burned into ones memory for ever. Long live O. mykiss! Nate
