My PB striper from the surf

Been a slow season on the Central Coast of California. Only five stripers to hand and the summer's almost gone. But I made up for it by landing my personal best of 30" on Sunday. I know, not big by East Coast standards but it's unheard of around here. The fly was a simple unweighted bucktail streamer fished on an Airflo Sniper 3 IPS line, using my Echo Classic 6w 11' switch stick. The fly I call Second Breakfast. Special thanks to the tourist who snapped my picture! The fish was gently released to go and reproduce for future abundance.

A 30" striper is a respectable fish, nicely done. BTW nothing swims and fishes like buck tail but Im sure you know it already. Ive been using Superfly buck tail this year. It comes in lots of great colors and doesn't stink the house up.

Is it just me or does that striper look really pissed off for allowing itself to be caught?

Lovely fish by the way.

Regards, Tyke.

About 10" bigger than the biggest fish I have taken out of the Maine salt so far this year. Well done!
