Well, if that didn't just make my day! Congratulations to you both! Exercising my superior talent for pointing out the obvious, I'd say watch out, Dad - looks like you have a born Natural on your hands, there.
I also enjoy pointing out the obvious...it drives my wife nuts!
Funny you mention it...the kid started dissecting her technique in how to fish the dryfly not soon after landing those 2 steelhead. Sheesh.
possibly she will be dragging you to the river often.
beware her reading the rod and line catalogs, could start being expensive.
I know this as my son needs duplicates of my kit ,but the latest versions.

Cheers! I pray you're correct that she drags me to the river. I recall as a kid that I would beg my dad to take me fishing...sometimes, he would say no. I didn't understand that. So if Emma asks me to go...you can bet I will have the proper response.

Thanks so much, Loren. I appreciate your compliment. As I drove back home with Emma, I was counting my blessings of having an incredible kid and I was just a fan. Cheers.
Emma: Just wanted to let you know that your cackhanded single spey was so much better than mine. Congratulations on the steelhead. You have joined a fraternity that has comparatively few members. Thanks to your dad for sharing this post with all of us on Speypages!!!!!
Gary, I will for sure pass your encouragements to Emma. Cheers, kind sir.
Congratulations to your daughter and you.
Embrace every minute of it!!
I wondered what you were up to since we exchanged hooks...now I know.
Great times for you and Emma and a fine job of documenting it.
Totally off the charts.
All good things to you both.
Tom, your assumption is correct. My apologies for not keeping in contact after our hook exchange (I still need and want to tie up a Fail-me-Never for you). We've been busy with family holidays. Cheers!
Thank you to the rest of folks that viewed and responded to this thread. I appreciate your encouragements. Glad to inspire some of the parents of younger children to take a chance in sharing their passion. It takes a bit more planning and sacrifice...but the rewards are joyful.
And grateful to those before us, that shared the love of the outdoors with their children.
