WTB 8wt switch/short spey

Hey,

I'm looking for a switch or short spey for winter steel, perhaps a little bit of crossover. Learnt on a 1307 decho and its length just seems a bit excessive for most of the water I fish.

Looking for something a bit shorter, a bit faster, capable of t14 and heavy flies, and bomb some line if need be. Does this rod exist…..under $400, shipped?
Preference to those with a card or good warranty. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Doug

Have a look let me know

I think I fish, in part, because itís an anti-social, bohemian business that, when gone about properly, puts you forever outside the mainstream culture without actually landing you in an institution. ĖJohn Gierach

Check out Sierra Trading Post. They have the Sage TCX switch on sale for $500, but they will continue to come down. They were $450 on their site before the holidays. TCX is a great, stiff switch that can handle the heavy tips.

echo

that echo switch is always a good one for the money. i've had em in 6 and 7 and 8... the 10'10" 8 definitely has some power. the older models have that matte turquoise/green blank like a specialist. the newer models aren't as "cool" looking, but still look pretty slick. i think they retail brand new for $350 or something thereabouts. i'd sell ya mine (newer one) for $300, its only been fished once. tried the 510 skagit intermediate on it and it felt a lil heavy, might like a 480 intermediate or maybe a 510 floater skagit switch
