A reel classic...godfrey salmon reel

So I got this reel in exchange for one of my olsons....I needed a reel for 6/7 wt spey rods...and was looking for something different then my click and pawls...

Ted Godfrey made this reel back in 1986...it is a multiplier reel with a tensioner style drag similar to bogden and other hand made reels of that era...

I have 120 yards of 30lb backing, normally running line and 435 or 6/7 45' fall favorite on this reel no problem....

It is not only an amazing piece of old school bench made history...it's a solid, fish it hard reel.....I sent it in to Arch. and had him do a complete clean up and inspection...everything is ready to go..

Reel has some honest wear on it...drag will stop a train when up..but smooth when down....3.5 or so...

This is a cool little reel. How can you get into a hand made multiplier for any less?
The new Godfrey multipliers are well over $2400.00 .
The thing spools in line like a bat out of hell!
