Early 4" wide J.W.Young built reel

-SOLD--Early(late 30's I think) 4" wide Allcock The "MARVEL" built by JW Young & Sons
Great spey reel with good capacity
Dual pawls
Crown shaped regulater
end play adjustment screw
Ernoid handle
Strong springs/ strong check
pawls and gear in very good shape
neatly filed brass foot will fit all rods
Right hand wind
Deep throaty sound

This reel has no original finish remaining as someone attempted to polish it.
They did a poor job- I never attempted to improve it as I have been fishing it.
It is missing the line guard but it is really not that obvious.
Of all the reels I own(tooo many) this is one of my favorites it's hard to explain what a cool reel this is. I am just tired of the right hand wind thing.
225 Cad shipped Can/USA Paypal - These are really hard to find.
PM if interested
Kevin

PM sent 'bout reel

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles (spey rods). Doug Larson

Take only photographs, retain only memories, leave only a good impression of yourself, perhaps just footprints.
