Description

RoaringRiver Stinger Spey rods (Scandinavian Style)So what's the big deal about the way we SCANDINAVIANS get our Spey cast out there? Since its beginnings in the 1960's, Scandinavian influence from top tournament casters and fishermen, schooled on famous Salmon/Seatrout rivers of Sweden and the west coast of Norway, have played a mojor role in the development of our highly versatile style. Our style provides tremendous distance, depth and presentation control, all with minimal effort. We use a looped Shooting Head line, available in differing densities, ranging in length from 34 to 42 feet depending on rod length along with thin diameter shooting line. Teamwork from a fast butt hand stroke and relative short uper hand stroke, ( overall about half the movement of traditional style casting ), a sudden stop to unload, forms narrow loops that can slice bread. These very narrow loops help make very long casts turn right over. This style cast is most effective with faster taper, yet very light rods. Enter G.Loomis STINGER SERIES two-hand rods. These rods have just the right action, a powerful butt transitioning smoothly to a fast tip that will deliver the razor loops characteristic of the Scandinavian method of spey casting. Our style will keep you on the water longer, a smile on your face, and without a case of the "jelly

These rods were designed to optimally cast floating or intermediate shooting heads of 33 to 46 ft. This is the most recent development in two-hand casting, a much faster, shorter stroke using the lower hand (underhand casting). These rods help you generate high line speed and give you great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods let you make overhead false casts, generating the highest line speed possible. That's assuming you have sufficient room for back casting, such as gravel bar or ocean beaches.

FR168910-03Length: 14'Line: 9 - 10Pieces: 3 Now we're getting serious about the far shore. The 14 foot length is comfortable handling longer shooting heads, 39 to 41 feet and heavier heads have greater turnover power at distance, to straighten leaders with larger flies.

this rod also casts a heavy skagit head with heavy sink tips and huge flies with ease!

I already have the 15' 10/11 Alta Stinger, My Gawd what a beast. And so light in the hand. But I never get to see the turnover because of the earth's curvature.

Your rod should go quickly at this price.
BTW, the Altas are by no means bargain basement rods. The difference between them and the GLX is very slight, if not totally negligible.
