Exclamation When selling a reel...

There may be no known reason why we prefer to reel with this hand or that one, often to the point where reeling from the "wrong" side feels almost unmanageable, but that bias is definitely there. Some fly reels can be easily reversed in seconds, others require moderate mechanical skills, and some may even need to be returned to the maker for conversion.

When selling a reel, always specify whether it's presently RHW or LHW. If a prospective buyer asks, offer to change the drag yourself. Or definitely let the buyer know what changing drag orientation is likely to involve.
