Who?

Silly question but this caught my attention: "Free shipping via USPS to CONUS." USPS is obvious, but who the heck is "CONUS?"

While not the OP, my SWAG (scientific wild assed guess) is that what was meant was Contiguous USA, ie the lower 48. AK, while possibly requiring a lot more $$$ for shipping is on the North American continent...

If you're using USPS it's the same price to ship to Alaska or Hawaii as it is to any other State.

I do not understand all of the goods for sale here on Speypages that say shipping to CONUS only, or that only will sell to Lower 48. Like the last post said, Priority mail is the same cost whether you are sending it across the street in your hometown, or to Barrow Alaska at the top of the world. We are part of the US up here.

AK_FLyboy and afunk,

Flat rate Priority boxes are the same cost ( and are a fantastic deal for Alaskans). Everything else is based on zones. It costs $5 for me to send 2 lbs over to the coast Priority mail. It costs $9.55 to send the same package to ANC. Mail 5 lbs and the difference is greater: $7.65 to the coast, $17.65 to ANC. You aren't going to get a fishing rod in a flat rate box...

But yeah, I hear you. Were I a seller, I'd just state that shipping would be actual cost (including $ for special containers, if needed)

As noted by other folks above, if the PP payment/what-ever works ... why should/would the seller care where he's sending the 'package?' If there was some sort of special packaging required (which limited the carriers) I could see the point. But fly lines?
