FS - Sharpes 14' 10/11 Spliced cane rod

Gents,

I have a 14' for 10/11 wt spliced JS Sharpe rod for sale. It is a 3/1 with original tip length with agate tip top. It comes with rod tube and exc. condition original sock and original brass/hardwood splice protectors.

This is an excellent cane rod for many different lines. My favorite lines for this rod are a 10/11 Delta w/tips, a 750 Skagit with T14 etc. that'll toss any monstrosity you want to put on the end of the line over 100', and a 11/12 75' Carron is also a perfect match.

I would describe this rod's action similar to an MKS with a fast recovery tip and a progressive action tho the flex does not go as far into the butt as an MKS.

This rod has been great during winter on the OP for big steel and friends of mine have said the same rod is excellent for fresh chinook on the Kenecktok, etc

I'm asking $350 plus shipping

Regards, nathan

That's a great price for that rod !!!!!!!!!!!!

When I am on the river with my cane and an old Foster Bros. reel.....I have a feeling of oneness with the river. Hard to put into words...but it is pure magic

Yes this rod is still available. I asked Poppy for a price and he said $400 with the 1 tip. There is a bit of epoxy on the thread wraps someone put on but it doesn't affect the action at all.

It is an excellent rod that I'm sad to sell. I have the 13 for 9 and it's my go to cane rod with a 1925 4" Dingley it balances great. They are excellent fishing tools that are a joy to cast and are the rods Bob Clay originally used to develop his tapers, etc.

My only reason for selling is I've had 2 rotator cuff surjeries from a work injury and doubt I'll be able to use it anytime soon. I'll post some pics within a cpl hours.

Regards, Nathan
