You may want to rethink about using Vintage Fly Tackle based on some of the comments and experience by some on Classic Fly Rod Forum. Seems things have not gone well since Gary the owner passed away.

The Classic Fly Rod Forum ? Vintage Fly Tackle ?

Hate to even say this as I've used them in the past with no problems...but for your own sake, stay away. Ask me how I know I was able to get my cc payment refunded via purchase protection, but why go thru the headache??

Thanks for the messages.
I made years ago some deals with Gary and let’s say like this, customer service was great!

Approximately 6months ago I try it to contact Vintage tackle couple times without any answers.
Then I sendt again message about 2 months ago and still no answer.
Customer service quality has dropped a lot after Gary.

But that’s fine, i don’t Vintage tackle and they don’t need my money’s or items.

But still looking Noel and Walkers !
Let me know if you are looking to sell, thanks a lot !

I’ve tried repeatedly to get ahold of them. Gary was selling a Morgan rod for me that had my name on it. It was posted in may long after his passing. It sold and I’ve had zero response from them about getting my payment.

Very timely piece here. I'm just exchanging emails with Aaron at vintagetackle right now on swapping a 4 1/4" perfect for a smaller 3 3/4.
He does seem to be on the ball however and very quick to reply. Any chance you could shoot me a pm with concerns regarding vintage tackle?

Thanks, Jim.

There talking about vintage fly tackle not the same company. I’ve bought reels from Aaron and he’s a good guy to deal with. The owner of vintage fly tackle passed away and I’m not sure who is running it now. I hear rumours that his widow is and she has been looking for some help with the business. No idea what’s going on with it now.

Vintage Tackle UK (Aaron) and the Vintage Tackle in the US being discussed here are not the same companies.

Thanks for clearing that up Nickels. I was thinking Aaron seemed very above board and very willing to converse via email. Glad to hear this.
Sorry to Teemu for getting this thread off track. Good luck in your search.

Send Ville Kiviniemi a message at Classicflygear.com for some help on locating your Noel reels. He's located out of Finland.
