Speyco 4.25 Skagit - A First Run Reel

This is a first run 4.25 Speyco recently serviced by Tim. The counter balance was replaced, everything else is original. Beautiful patina seen in the brass and accents. Its been fished hard, has seen many days on the water and simply reeks of fishy mojo!

Its from Tim's first run of the Skagit series, made in his garage. It wears a #12 marking on the inner frame....its a reel OG!

Looking for $400USD obo

(pm me and well figure out the logistics)

What’s the weight of the reel and is that a brass face? Shadow makes it tough to tell with my phone. Is this maybe a River and not a Skagit? Asking as I was only aware of the River in the 4 1/4”.

Thanks...

This is a "River" reel Brian. The front face plate gives it away and it was Tim's only model offered in 4 1/4".
Tim made the Skagit and Spey models in 4" diameter only. The difference was the width, 1 7/8" for the Skagit and 2 1/8" for the Spey model. Both were offered in plate wind or Snake Roll (S-handle).

Brass plate, brass foot and the centre screw threw the “S” handle is also brass (this is a plate wind with a fixed "S" Handle). My digital scale overloads at 3oz’s, so I don't have an answer right now for that part of your question.

Thanks GR8LAKES for the extra insight you provided.
