WTB T-24 Sink Tip

Hi

Trying to locate some T-24 sink tip material. Airflo used to sell it, but I have not been able to locate it lately.

I am looking to make 12-13' tips with it for a specific application and use. I know I can buy the Rio connectcore T-20 sink tips, but trying to find some of the older non-connectcore material. I already have T-18 etc. so don't need those weights.

If you have some old tip material you would like to sell or know of a source please let me know or PM me.

Thanks

if you strike out on T-24, the SA deep water express heads in 700 and 850 will cut to 23 and 28 gr/ft

Contact Steve Godshall about his Zink tip material.....at least up to 23 grains per foot for less than a buck.
Incredibly easy to weld.

Keep in mind that Steve’s zink stuff is a bit fatter (based on the ones I have), and so sinks slower relative to the Rio t-stuff if you go by weight/lenght alone, so keep you eye on the real ball, which is the sink rate. The mere weight per unit lenght is only *incidental*, but when using the same stuff/coating formula, as with t-stuff, adding more of the stuff has the net effect of increasing the sink rate. But the net effect is that the sink rate only goes a little faster than the square root of the diameter - so lots of weight for not a lot of sink. But tell Steve you want something that sinks as fast as t24. Any excuse to go talk to him is good, but I doubt there is anyone that can put you on the right stuff faster, even in the rare event he doesn’t have it on him.

Hum, t24!? Is that by chance a Wally/chinook suggestion? You are getting pretty close to a trolling line there John.

You might want to just have him just make you a skagit head out of the stuff while you are at it. At 25’ that would come out to a sweet 600 gr!

Depth is proportional to sink rate and lenght so you could try casting 20’ of a lower sink rate. It’s doable.
