The term "Switch Rod" hadn't been created yet by Bob Meiser, but this rod surely qualifies as one. In fact, before Beulah released its first 11' 9/10 Surf/Beach rod the Loop is what I used for stripers in the surf off Cape Cod. Powerful is a good term for it. The only thing I didn't like, and it was true on all the Loop double-handers, was the thickness of the cork grips. My hands are small, and although I was both a Loop and a Beulah dealer at the time, I finally chose the Beulah, due primarily to the cork. The Green Line was also Loop's most expensive of the color rods. I'd jump on this in heartbeat if I still had a use for it.

These are nice rods. But, the Grey line was far more expensive at the time and was the precursor to the GASS rods, right?

You're right. The Grey line came out years after the others though and I don't think of that as being one of the "colors" though obviously it is. I should have said of the original color rods, yellow, black, blue, and green that the green was the most expensive. Sorry for the confusion.
