What is the difference? It does not say Gen 1 or Gen 2 on the box.

No on the integrated running line. The taper was tweaked on the Gen II lines. If it was a Gen II it would say either Gen 2 or be designated F2F70.

Probably a one which is a great line of which I own 2. Was hoping for a II to be able to compare side to side.

If this is true, then it is a Gen 1. I suspected it was a Gen 1, because it only has a single welded loop on the back end of the line. That, and I've seen Gen 2 lines labeled on the box and likewise have not seen Gen 1 lines distinguished in any way.

I do have some that are labeled ff45 and some f2f45 so you may be right but as far as I know and can tell the only change in taper was that the originals with running line had 10ft of extra taper between the runningline and head. When they released them as a head only they were essentially the same taper as original but cut ten feet from the running line...
sorry if this is adding confusion, and if anyone has any definite information regarding a design change it would be news to me and Im interested to know 😉

They are amazing lines in any case! And hard to come by. Gen 1 or gen 2.
