Thank you Tie-Dye-Fly-Guy !
What lines are you using with this rod? I want to be able to go far and deep with big streamers.
Some guys recommended the Windcutter 8-9-10 or 7-8-9. Would the Skagit Versi-Tip line be suitable as well?
I have never fished a spey rod, so I am just looking for a line easy to cast to minimize initial frustration

I used to have a Sage 3600D on my 7141-4. GREAT MATCH of rod to reel. You can find them used at a very decent price on ebay. I've still got my 3600D and it's not on any rod, but I just can't seem to part with it just yet.

Also I wonder if I can get a basic floating line and then add my own tips to it.

i have a floating windcutter 7/8/9 that i could sell you. Its got the first 15ft looped to add in a sink tip if needed
3400 is really small capacity wise for that rod, from a line standpoint. remember this is a 9 weight rod in a 7 package... you will need a 3500 as a minimum. PM me if you need some reels and lines for that rod, i own one and it is one of my favourites.

It would be nice to turn my 2 extra centerpins into big spey reels and the 3 extra regular flylines into spey lines, but where did I leave my magic wand?
