Switch reel

Hey there, I've got an old Pflueger Medalist 1498CJ I'd sell you for $25 plus shipping if you're interested. Holds a WF10F single hand line plus 175yds 30lb Dacron. Reel is fully caged with diameter of 3 3/4", though actual spool diameter is 3 3/8" with 1" width and mid arbor. What do you think?

I have a few Bauer MX4's. Haven't thought about selling - but haven't used them in awhile. All reels just rebuilt by Bauer - new drag disks, etc.
One has ding - $325 shipped. The others are excellent - $375 shipped
If you are interested I will post pic.
I also have spools - $150 shipped.

Speyman, Connolly i tried looking up the reels on the ross website and have no idea on what they look like, or any specs or technical info. If u could post a pic, or a link that would be sweet. thankx

Clearly you are a "young" gun . The G or GS they are referring to is the Ross Gunnison reels that aren't made anymore but are rock solid reels, that are being offered here above at great prices. Ross has great customer service too.

Google Ross Gunnison and you'll get several hits and pics. May have something on the Ross site as well (site is blocked here at my work) but can't tell now.

Gunn

Yes, back in my day the Ross Gunnison was state of the art. We cheered when they came out with the 5 as it was big enough for small speys. 3 and 7/8 diameter and 7/8" wide. This one has 100 yards of Gel spun and has had up to a midbelly #8 on it. It is a better match for a 6 or 7 or a switch though.

YG

I am out bird hunting for the weekend.
Have full set of pics available.
Monday

The "GS" is the saltwater version of the Ross Gunnison series.
Classic American early disc drag reels.
Made in Gunnison Colorado
Similar but different from Jack's....wider and shorter
Will balance all the way up to a 8`139 Burk
