Hardy Bougle' 3 3/4" MKVI: 2007 Made in UK

A really gorgeous Hardy Bougle 3 3/4" diameter reel. Brand new in anodized aluminium finish with ivorine handle. Left or right hand wind. Rim tension adjustment. Brand new and comes complete with Hardy neoprene pouch, box, and all paperwork.

The reel was made in Alnwick and bears the serial no. A42268 on the foot. The Hardy code is HER904 which means that it was made in 2007, shortly before production moved to the Far East..

I spooled it up but never mounted, casted or fished. Essentially new with absolutely no nicks, scratches, factory fresh and very collectable as it was the last of the UK Bred Bougle'.

Line is not included...

$500

Bougle question

Is this size Bougle big enough for spey applications? What weight spey line can it take and what sort of backing capacity?
Thanks
Kevin

I just lined it up with a Beulah Elixir Scandi line + backing, and its plenty. It balances very well with my 11' switch rod. I haven't fished it yet, but if I don't get a buyer, I'll end up keeping it and fishing it soon!

Mine

Holds about 125 yards of 30 lb backing ( white cause its a Hardy) and a 678 Windcutter and sits beautifully on a Sage 7136-4....
