A classic DT line for big rods.

I recently intended to do some line chopping & cutting & couldn't find an old line of mine so bought one - & then found my old line before the new one arrived; typical!

Anyway the line I bought is brand new & too good to chop up so it may interest someone looking for a DT line for "proper rods".

It's a Shakespeare Worcestershire (made in Redditch, England) DT floater, ivory colour rated an #11 & is 38 yards long. Now I know modern US ratings are different so I weighed it and on my digital scales the line weighed 1192 grains with the ties removed.

These are good quality lines, I have several, & are traditional PVC coatings with a nice supple feel. It comes packed in a round purpose made tin (similar to the Carron lines) & has a 100 yard spool of 30lb green Dacron backing included - but note that one side has popped on the backing spool so this will have to be secured through the middle & the backing wound off carefully.

I don't need it now but thought someone else may enjoy it so if anyone is interested let me know & it's your's for $ 27.50 + postage charges. I haven't weighed it at the post office yet but checking on line this is likely to be about $14 -15 but to save uncertainty call it $40 posted, payment by PayPal as a gift.

I'm heading off to Scotland tomorrow for 3 days on the Tweed so I won't be able to post it until I return, but if anyone wants it let me know & we'll sort out the details when I get back - note if you live out side of the lower 48 & the postage is substantially more then I will confirm this to you first as my price is based upon the standard postage charge to the US & outside of this I will have charge the extra postage.

Regards, Tyke.

I'm all set up now for DT lines ... where were you a few months ago !!
If anyone is wanting to try a DT line for their 8-10 US rated rods, this is the line to try !!
The Shakey DT salmon lines are by far my most favorite !! At $40 shipped, it's a good deal.
The DT lines are very humbling and excellent for cast tuning. But they also make excellent fishing lines. A very simple, relaxed pace ... something we all need more of

This is still sitting on my table so a little bump in case anyone fancies a traditional DT floater - as stated this is brand new in the tin & has never even been uncoiled.

Regards, Tyke.
