Can't we all just get along?.....

I have just completed the transaction with Xgman on the now "extremely hot" Loop reel. And I would like to say to all the "Haters" out there that in my opinion , he's been really accomodating , in that he gave me the time to post a question , as I had some doubts about the reel working for me . After a few days of no responses to my post in the Tackle forum(except one....and the guys who PM'D me) he also gave me the names of some contacts to answer my Q's. As for his views on how dealings should be done on this forum , I think he's definately got his head screwed on straight .
Obviously buyers and sellers are a little nervous on both sides .Before i purchased with Xgman I passed on other reels from posters I'm not familiar with . And then "bingo" !! up comes Xgman who I've seen post a tonne of times and liked his way of thinking , so I didnt hesitate . The rest is history.....
Thanks again brother
P.S Neil ..I will definately be hooking up with you !

A classic case of a few guys that feel a need to offer up an opinion on a topic that is quite none of their business. Interested shoppers ought to deal directly with the seller and others hold their peace.

A couple of the classic fly gear forums have gone to 100% PMs for buyers; no follow-on postings on the "for sale" threads are allowed. Seems to be working fine, and the clutter of unwelcome comments is gone. Maybe it's time to do the same here.

We set up the classified section years ago at the request of our readers. Speypages does not derive any benefit from it, other than (we hope!) happy readers who find it useful. Generally, it has run very well since then on the honour system. If it starts to become a headache for us for any reason we simply shut it down.

Hi Dana,

I think the focus should be on the wonderful service this board has provided, including the classified section. Such has been of great service to all of us. Once in a while you have, maybe at most 1% of the users, who can create a pain in the butt for you and the rest at Spey Pages. At those times it is easy to have the focus shift to those 1% when in fact the other 99% of us are extremely grateful for what Spey Pages brings to all of us as users.

We will never be rid of the 1%, but let's all try and keep the focus on the 99% who have used the forum for info, data, interchange of ideas, and yes to trade out equipment we no longer use, and have had nothing but positive interactions during all of their use of the forum. That is why I support it!!

You don't see many white dudes sportin' the aubergine/periwinkle. Hard to tell the actual shade, it's a little washed out. Norm had some sartorial stones...

Hey, those are great, thanks...

I sometimes wonder if the we had a quarter of the empathy for our fellow speypagers as we do for the mykiss, how much easier this would all be?

Do appreciate that though sinktip!!!

Well done, as always

Thanks Sinktip, for the norms.

And thanks Dana, for voicing the willingness to shut it down. I'd hate to see it happen, but I'd rather keep the forum without the classifieds than have the whole thing go negative over classifieds.
